Global liquidity update: If you look closely, net liquidity just turned into contractionary/deteriorating territory. This is when you account for rates (cost of capital). In plain english then: M2 YoY less rates is below zero and trending lower over the past 30 days. This is usually bearish risk assets! Good to know that M2 and rates are not the only factor driving global liquidity. Another important factor is cross-border flows and these are currently adding a ton of liquidity through the carry trade (think lower Yen)
