Imperfect socialism fails disastrously precisely because people like you who think they know what's better for everyone else want to force others to do it their way. That's wrong. It is evil, in fact. You're so stuck up your own butt with apparent successes in one metric that you've missed the fundamental flaw with coercive systems: they are evil.

She thinks she's right, but that's because are hasn't figured out that she's been indoctrinated by the RCC into being statist since the RCC itself has had a very unhealthy relationship with too many kings and despots over the centuries and that the very faith are professes should preclude her participation in any government. (Since that's how I read the parts of the Bible that explicitly call for followers of Christ to only follow him as king, not any human.) And... Who is fretting? I'm not debating based on emotion. Some opinions, sure, but also history is pretty clear that all government is evil and that any coercive action is also evil. That's something you've failed to address, and since that is my most basic critique, it would be cool if you actually have half a moment to consider that. If you think it is Ok to force people to pay for services they don't want or need, them you and I aren't ever going to see eye to eye on anything.

Correct. But, even with imperfect capitalism, we're still lifting billions out of abject poverty. It's pretty incredible. It would be even better if we abolish government entirely and lived in close knit local communities. Imperfect socialism leads to losses of liberty and then death. Or worse. I prefer the failures of respecting private property to the failures of coerced slavery. (Because that's what socialism and it's ilk lead to.)

In Cuba. Where it is culturally and ethically homogenous. Universal healthcare can work in areas of cultural and ethnic homogeneity, at least for a while. You are assigning successes to universal healthcare that come from factors outside of the healthcare system itself. Ask a Brit of they can see a GP this year, while illegal imports get priority treatment. Same thing is happening in most Yurpian cities now.
