This is the Krux—a project whose usefulness and promotion receive remarkably “little attention”. Why? Largely due to the meagre profits—or outright losses—that influencers stand to make from it. Perhaps many of them are simply “shitcoiners” and supporters of Bitcoin Core. And perhaps it is the very nature of its decentralisation within the Bitcoin ecosystem that makes it unattractive to those seeking quick returns. It is, however, a brilliant project: genuinely open-source and packed with features—perhaps even more useful than what Coldcard had to offer. I highly recommend it, just as I do Seedsigner. ⚡

Possible reasons why this alleged attack has occurred within the Bitcoin community: 1. Monopolise the news cycle to distract from BIP110. 2. Steal BTC from Bitcoin plebs—the very foundation of the BIP110 movement. 3. Destroy faith in self-custody. (Bitcoin only functions as a system if a critical mass holds their own keys and runs full archival nodes to enforce the rules. Otherwise, large mining pools, corporations, and Bitcoin Core devs will inevitably control the network.) 4. Drive users to move their BTC to exchanges—the absolutely worst place to be during a contentious soft fork that may result in a chain split, should miners collude. From my perspective, the reasons outlined by Matthew Kratter's are not just spot on—they are profoundly accurate. Anyone who considers themselves a Bitcoin holder, yet remains unwilling or unable to grasp the nature of this situation, is—whether blatantly or deep down—accepting of Bitcoin being transformed. Through centralisation and control, its inherently decentralised nature is compromised. GM ☀️. Within the realm of internet technologies and the Bitcoin ecosystem, it is becoming increasingly clear why it is vital for “the asset” to remain solely a monetary system. Equally significant is the principle that anyone who can afford to run a router—with “decent and moderate” traffic—should be able to run their own node (BIP110) in its entirety. A brilliant concept, and one I fully support. “Out there”—in our interactions with pets, plants, good food, pleasant weather, and face-to-face relationships—life is thriving, and it demands our attention. 🪴 As part of my freelance routine, and to keep my mind clear, I am sharing these thoughts with you today. Having sparked the FUD shortly before the August soft fork—which may have reached thousands of users—due to the main announcement on 31 July, the impact is now evident. It is visible in the mass hack of Bitcoin accounts tied to one of the most highly recommended “cold” wallets on the market (only-bitcoin). We’re sorry about this. Yet, this has not prevented us from enjoying a plant-based (vegan) lunch amongst some Purple Konnektiv members. May good health and cruelty-free food abound! 🌿
