Loved this format Chris, this would be a great model for a members feed I think. The next step on my node is to set up Alby hub and NWC to connect my Primal wallet to my LND node. I’m still not zapping on Nostr yet (shame). I’d like to hear more about OpenCode. Do you run that in the terminal or with the GUI? Which models do you connect to? You said you use it to ssh into your node to review configs and settings, I’d love to hear more about how you’re using OpenCode to manage your nodes. Thanks. https://fountain.fm/episode/dthWmDsXQyZOiHHIWkg7

This is really great to see, another step forward with I understand the encryption from my end to the model end, but I have a couple of questions about what happens next: - Who hosts there models using the TEE? - What happens to the data once it arrives at the model? I understand these are open source models but I'd like to know who is hosting them and is there any way to know what happens to the data once it's arrived at the model end? The TEE model is used by too and I understand that neither you (or Maple) can see the content of the prompt, but I'm struggling to understand how this applies to the people who wrote the code and run the model. Can you help me with this? Thanks

Boost for the road! I’d like to hear your opinion on Open Source LLMs. If an LLM is Open Source, how much can we know about the security and telemetry of that model? If the source code is visible and we can audit it, can we be reassured of what’s being logged or used for training, or is it still a black box? I’m having a debate with a friend at the moment, he says that LLMs are black boxes, even if they are Open Source. What say you? https://fountain.fm/episode/YHmbWUNnBcQv7PmlM3pS

Really Really? If there's one word I've heard thousands of times in my time in Bitcoin, it's permissionless. No permission required by anyone, for any use. The only boundaries are the consensus rules. I've learnt so much from you over the years and I always considered you one of the good guys. It's really sad to see this from you. What happened man, what happened? Bitcoin's not permissionless? Really? The word is a trope for scammers. Really? Dude, you need to look in the mirror and go play with your kids.

There are lots of Bitcoin adjacent projects which we support because we want to, more for ideological reasons than practical ones. But using is not like that, over the past year here are my two practical, real world reasons for running PPQ and the value I've got from it. 1. Stopped using Chat GPT. Protects my privacy and saved me $20/month. For my general non private queries I moved from Chat GPT to the PPQ web interface. It gave me access to lots of models, including the latest releases of frontier models. Offers better value, you only pay for what you use. This can go both ways, but at least you know where you are and don't just suddenly run out of tokens or get downgraded to a slower model. 2. Stopped using Cursor Same as above, I had a KYC account tied to a fiat payment method, so Anthropic and Cursor could know exactly who I am and what prompts I issue. So I found myself guarded and very careful about what I put in there. So I moved to Cline and connected to PPQ using my API key. Using Cline is very similar to Cursor, but I had to give no personal information and my connection to the LLM is protected by a VPN and the anonymity of paying with Lightning on PPQ. I still don't put personal information into Cline or PPQ, but can talk a bit more in my prompts in general terms. I'm just a Bitcoiner with an interest in Open Source software and AI, and have found PPQ.ai to be one of the best tools in the space. Give it a go for yourself.

Great interview Cody, this really got me thinking. It seems like many of us are no longer questioning narratives or thinking adversarially and we’re weaker for it. I no longer think Bitcoin is a done deal and all we have to do is sit on our stacks and post toxic memes to anyone who disagrees with us. I think there’s a lot of work to do and we’re a lot further from our goals than most Bitcoiners realize. Really enjoyed Roger’s takes and your questions. Thanks. https://fountain.fm/episode/fOhZ42PYNun9zuosqghN

Hey Chris. I want to echo some of the other comments here and say that TWIB is a highlight of my week and that the signal and value you provide is awesome. The fact that you live and breathe Open Source and live off V4V means the content is of the highest quality. It seems like all the other Bitcoin pods have either lost their values, sold out to advertisers or just gone bat shit crazy, so we need you here buddy. I’d like to see more of the membership for TWIB and think there must be opportunities there for you. An Open Source Bitcoin community centered around TWIB, learning new skills and helping each other out, I’d be a part of that. Over and out. https://fountain.fm/episode/oNdTVbg0WoYvNkUh8Uyi

OK, thanks for explaining. I understand the bit about the nodes being the gatekeepers and how that played out with Segwit. So with mandatory lock in for BIP110 in August is a chain split inevitable? And the key factor is how many nodes run BIP110, is that correct? What happens if 10% of the nodes run 110 and 90% don't? Does that mean we have essentially a hard fork, as BIP110 nodes will reject any blocks and transactions that non 110 nodes relay or broadcast? Is that two separate chains and two separate (cough, cough), tokens?

Thanks for the signal Chris, as always. Can you help us understand the game theory for BIP110 in relation to mining. If they have very low hashrate (<10%) can this still cause a disruption and potential chain split? My initial thoughts were that they won’t get a significant amount of hash so it will just die on the vine. But the proponents of 110 are talking like they can still force a counter fork if they have minority hash. Maybe I’ve got this wrong so can you talk us through this pls. https://fountain.fm/episode/rcW9yFF6VJmWiO6Q55Wk

Loved this episode. Hearing Mehdi’s personal story over decades and his insights into how things were in Iran before the revolution was fascinating. Listening to a conversation like this is a much better way to understand what’s happening there now than all the headlines and clickbait on MSM. Bravo Cody and Medhi. Thank you. https://fountain.fm/episode/X91Bjp1uOmK8nzSqq0XW

A question about nodes and one for Wes. What is Nix Bitcoin? I hear you talk about Nix on LUP, and as I understand it Nix is a distro, but maybe it’s not? And how does Nix Bitcoin fit in? Is it a node implementation? Or not? Help me out with this one please. For Wes: What would it take for more Open Source believers to get into Bitcoin more? I’d love to hear his thoughts on this, hopefully you have some time on the road for some Bitcoin chat. Safe travels. https://fountain.fm/episode/Oz8GZDAxHzqozajATIMf
