I was foraging at a young age. I painted houses. Created my own jobs out of thin air. While other kids were in bed, I was taking care of an addict. The father that was meant to be safe. A protector. So, yep. Been a house cat. And whatever else you want to say. Used to sneak out the house. Even prisoners get one call. We could've been sneaking out calling the National Guard. 😂 I didn't get a childhood. I got survival skills.

Just something I wanted to bring to awareness. 🌞 Someone said it so clearly one day, and it changed how I greet the day forever. "Good morning" is you waking up and declaring it's already good. But it's also you "morning" the day—mourning it—before it ever began. You're already bracing. Already expecting the weight. Already saying "let's get through this." That's why I say Grand Rising 💥 now. Rise. Not mourn. Not get through. Rise. The day didn't start before you. The day starts with you. You're not reacting to it—you're authoring it. You're not surviving the morning—you're rising into it. Words matter. What you say over your day shapes how you walk through it. So I don't say good morning anymore. I say Grand Rising. Because I'm not mourning the day before it begins. I'm rising into it. 💥

In Switzerland—and in a lot of places—teachers themselves sit in the committees that shape what gets taught. That's participatory, not top-down. And you're right that "New Authority" and decentralized conflict resolution are real shifts that give kids more mental freedom than previous generations had. That's a genuine improvement. I'm not going to pretend it isn't. So I'll concede the point. Where I was picturing a distant decision-maker, you're describing something much more local, much more human. That matters. But here's where I'd still gently push back—not on the curriculum, but on the gap around it. Discernment isn't usually a required subject. Not because someone banned it. But because it doesn't fit neatly into any single subject. It's not math. It's not language. It's not even civics. It's the thing that runs underneath all of them—the ability to ask "is this true?" "is this for me?" "is this someone else's agenda or my own spirit?" And that gap—that absence—has consequences. Kids learn empathy, conflict resolution, expression. Those are good. But the question of "how do I test what I'm being told against my own spirit and against what's true"—that's often left to chance. So here's what I'd add, and I think it might land with you: If we knew a child's purpose—their actual design, their spirit—and aligned their learning to it instead of to our own agendas for them, we wouldn't have to teach discernment as a separate subject. It would be natural. They'd grow up knowing the difference between what aligns with how they're built and what's just someone else's plan for them. That's not about controlling kids. It's the opposite. It's about seeing them clearly so they can see themselves. And I think that's the same direction you're pointing—just one more step.

I hear you. And I actually think you're partly right. When I say "they," I'm not talking about one secret group in a smoky room deciding what we can and can't know. I don't believe that either. I don't think there's a single cabal holding the keys. But I do think "the lack of people to teach freedom" isn't an accident. It's a pattern. And patterns have causes. Think about it this way. If no one taught you how to read a contract, and you signed one that took your house — was that a "they"? Or was it just a system that benefited from you not knowing? The system doesn't need a villain. It just needs enough people who don't ask questions. That's what I mean. Not a group. A condition. And here's the part that matters: if it's just a lack — just an absence — then it can be filled. By us. You don't need to wait for "them" to give you anything. You just need to start teaching each other. Which is exactly what I'm trying to do. So maybe we don't disagree as much as it sounds. You're saying there's no group withholding. I'm saying there's a pattern of withholding. Both can be true at the same time — and either way, the answer is the same: We stop waiting. We start learning. And then we teach the next person. That's not a strawman. That's just what's actually happening.

Sometimes we all need the right guidance. Not dependence. Not forever. Just someone who points us in the right direction until we can see the path ourselves. A real teacher wants you to outgrow them. A real guide hands you the map and lets you walk. A real shepherd leads you to the water — but doesn't force you to drink. The goal was never to make you need me. The goal was to help you see.
