From what I have learned about many religions that our ancestors practiced, is that they did not see people of different religions as enemies. It was more based on blood. It is unfortunate that white Christians took this divisive position and killed so many of their own people. We still see this conflict between thousands of different Christian sects today. Some Christians see people in Africa and South America as their allies against people of their own close blood just because they adopted this belief. We all have mutable and immutable characteristics. Our mutable characteristics are beliefs, political parties, and religions that we can and do change. Our immutable characteristics are our species, family, and genetic traits. Jews have scrambled the brains of most of my family, but I do not consider them my enemies. Their false beliefs create impediments, but these can be worked out over time.

This is more of a classical view. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and Vikings had similar outlooks. They worshiped ancestors, nature, and gods of different powers for tens of thousands of years.
