Venezuela's last remaining stockpile of enriched uranium was recently transferred to the U.S in early May. The 13.5 kg of uranium was removed from the RV-1 reactor in less than six weeks. This appears to have been done in coordination with the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research who removed the material from the reactor. The IAEA escorted the material to the port, from which a specialized vessel supplied by the British Nuclear Transport Solutions carried the material to the United States.
