Uses NOSTR mail to send NOSTR DMs and / or email: https://github.com/asherp/nostr-mail You load a nsec (optional), use Shamir secrets, heirs get threshold -1 and upon inheritance regain the remaining shares. For the Bitcoin, upload xpub, check in requires economic activity, resets the time before inheritance contents is sent to heirs. Eager to hear your thoughts.

What tools you using? Whatcha building?

I don’t know what tools you have, but in start9 it’s easy to set your own relay and they have various file systems to help with hosting your content. You may just want one with a lot of memory (4TB ssd) if you’re going to self host a lot of video content. May be worth hiring someone to get it done right the first time if you’re not a techie. You could figure it out, maybe someone will have the time to walk you through it and be tech support for free, but then if you screw up you risk losing it all - again, just like with Bitcoin, real ownership comes at the cost of spending time and understanding best practices and the corresponding tradeoffs. I don’t have time to do this all with you, unfortunately and sorry, but happy to periodically respond to questions you have. I’m no expert either, so take what I say cautiously, I’m just speaking abstractly and directionally.

Someone’s server is always going to be unreliable honestly. The best solution is for you and / or friends to just buy and run a server, you can post to NOSTR and have that server act as a relay too, but ideally, like Bitcoin, you depend on no one else.
