Coming off the heals of discussion of not carrying insurance. I’m glad you are ok and your family is safe. Sorry for the loss of your pup. Those are tough times.

Meanwhile I’m sitting here thinking if I melt down my “silverware” I will be in the hole for the cost to burn hot enough to melt steel. 🥵
This is a reasonable question. Freak accidents happen more often than you’d think. I worked in a trauma center for over a decade and saw many people with no insurance end up in terrible situations. For example, an 18-year-old kid was driving on the freeway to visit his girlfriend when a construction sign blew over and the post went straight through his chest. He survived, but his medical bills were astronomical. I assume he eventually settled on some kind of payment plan, but if you’re uninsured, you should have a plan in place for emergencies, especially if you’re holding a stack of sats you want to protect from liquidation, and even more importantly if you have kids or a family to provide for.
Beautiful day for a ride. Happy to see more bike content on Nostr.
I always zap bike posts
