Book recommendation: Pete Walker Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving I have rarely read such an insightful, empathetic and helpful book on psychology and childhood trauma in particular. Walker has gained a profound understanding of this complex subject through his work as a therapist and, even more so, through his own childhood experiences. He describes the mechanisms of CPTSD in great detail and with great accuracy. Walker then shows how and why conventional solutions are often flawed and therefore fail. In addition, he provides a wealth of practical guidance for successful therapy, including self-therapy by the victims — even if this is usually a very long road. Just reading his apt descriptions of the inner workings of CPTSD and his thoughtful accounts of the fates of victims is incredibly enlightening. https://www.pete-walker.com/complex_ptsd_book.html
