This makes me think about how school districts and policies have allowed testing companies to become highly profitable with the increase in standardized tests on computers. Schools are deemed “in compliance”and receive government funds or are not penalized in a bureaucratic sense. Meanwhile, Pearson for example, makes billions on kids’ data. Unfortunately, innovating schooling models to prevent this is not on people’s radar because it appears that it’s just too much of a daunting task. I agree with this take. Exactly why I left my traditional education career to build my startup. Learning is more complex now with the internet and ai. It’s why I’m building and testing conceptual tools that can be used with or without ai. My Writing Production pilot for example facilitates professionals and businesses that want to develop their communication frameworks using AI feedback loops. Having hard discussions around hard problems is becoming a valuable skill nowadays.
