I used to enjoy signing transactions via NFC with Coldcard, now I'm going back to good old QR codes.

Your most important seeds must be stored on metal plates. Regardless of how it was created, and even if it is stored on an secured electronic device. A device can easily be destroyed or simply stop working tomorrow, you need a solid backup on a metal plate. If you use a temporary signer you can make a SeedQR as an additional backup. That way, if you need to make a quick transaction, you just scan the QR code, there's no need to enter all the words.

And if you ask to store a main seed on a coldcard, definitely not now. I would wait a bit longer to see what's going on. But the real question is: would you still trust Coldcard and Coinkite for your seed and signing transactions ?
