⚡ npub.cash PSA: Migration Complete Good morning, everyone! Today, I’m happy to announce that the npub.cash reconciliation and migration are finally complete. We have successfully migrated all usernames and funds to the new stack, and all v1 services have now been retired. If you’ve been using .cash over the past few months, you shouldn’t notice any major changes. For users of the deprecated v1 stack, however, things will work a little differently. The new architecture no longer mints ecash on your behalf. Instead, it holds the mint quote so your wallet can mint the ecash directly. This approach is safer, improves privacy, and gives you greater control over your funds. This also means that npub.cash can now integrate only with full Cashu wallets, so the old claim interface is gone. The best way to use npub.cash is through a supported wallet, such as Sovran on iOS and Android or cashu.me on desktop and the web. For anyone who doesn’t want to use one of these wallets, or who needs NIP-46 support, I’m working on a web-based npub.cash wallet. It will let you claim and spend your sats over Lightning. That’s next week’s project! I’m incredibly grateful for the support and patience the npub.cash community has shown throughout this migration. With the old stack retired and the new architecture providing a much stronger foundation, I’m committed to improving npub.cash regularly and making the service better for everyone. Thank you! ⚡🧡

Another npub.cash PSA 📢 If you were using .cash or npub.cash with a custom mint, please ensure that this mint is still running and reachable. I already had several migration payments fail, because users configured custom mints that are not reachable. I will of course keep re-attempting those payments. Log into cashu.me, and check that the right mint is configured there.

PSA: Npub.cash v1 defaulted to Minibits, therefore npub.cash fund migration needs to be halted until Minibits has concluded it's own maintenance. User can expect funds to appear in v2 supporting wallets starting Wednesday. I am really sorry for the inconvenience 🫂

GM, everyone! As announced, the npub.cash migration is underway and proceeding as planned. All new payments are now generated on the new architecture and can be claimed using a supported wallet. You can find a list of compatible wallets here: https://.cash/#wallets Funds held by the legacy npub.cash service will be migrated gradually and automatically after the cutoff. No action is required from users, but the process will take some time to complete. Funds are safe, I promise. Because npub.cash predates v1 and has evolved significantly since its initial release, we will carefully scan the legacy database and verify the status of every proof. This includes searching for recoverable sats that may previously have been considered lost, for example, when a user initiated a withdrawal but never claimed the associated proofs. The dataset is large, VERY large, and verifying proof states requires throttled communication with the mint. We will therefore proceed deliberately to ensure the migration is thorough while preserving users’ privacy with respect to the mint. This is not the migration process I originally envisioned. We had to accelerate our plans after Blink discontinued API access for users in certain regions. Thank you for your patience and all the support.

Yesterday we have uncovered an incompatibility between http://npub.cash and mint software, causing signature verification failures. Until this is resolved http://npub.cash is offline for maintenance. Use http://.cash in the meantime. Funds are safe

The time has come, .cash and npub.cash are finally being reconciled mid August. If you are using npub.cash in your project please take a look at https://docs.npub.cash/docs/migration.html Balances will be migrated automatically.

Thanks! It catches encoding failures and tries the double encoding before giving up. Not beautiful but effective. https://github.com/Egge21M/-server/pull/19 I opened a PR to fix the double encoding btw

It has been years but you can finally pay npub.cash Zaps from . 🧡 The reason this wasnt working is because Primal seems to encode Zap Requests twice, breaking decoding on the server side. I added some compatibility code to -server to make it work until the upstream is fixed.

"Bitchat enables anonymous communication without mandatory user registration, phone number verification, or centralized logging of communications." You mean like a... voice does?
