Beware, once you get the hang of it, it will ruin most store bought bread forever! I’ve been baking my own sourdough for about 8yrs

It’s amazing how lucky we are in the UK, you can pay £15k for solar pv and a battery and you’ll be privileged enough to pay the same for electricity as you did all those years ago in 2021

My cat loves bringing home gifts, when she had kittens she went crazy with it bringing multiple dead animals a day into the house. So I splashed out on a smart cat flap that locks her out! #catstr

Been thinking about making a miner positive input ventilation system. My house is an old Welsh farmhouse which costs a fortune to heat and is still damp and cold. Anybody had any experience with PIVs? Do they actually work or just add to your heating/leccy bill?

Temperature sensor done. It’s not pretty but it works not bad for about £20. Onward

The radiator works now though so success! Still need a plumber though, don’t think a YouTube tutorial will teach me to service the boiler

YouTube how to videos never show you the bit where you undo the radiator valve and dirty water pisses up the wall. Managed to get the valve changed tho, hopefully that fixes the cold rad. Plumber was supposed to turn up today but in the Socialist Republic of Britain nothing works as it should.

The plan is to convert an s19 to water cooling and run it through a buffer tank heat exchanger coil which will be connected to the central heating/hot water. Had solar pv fitted and because of our system they couldn’t add a switch to dump excess into the hot water tank. So the miner will (hopefully!!) heat the buffer tank to add some kWs to the system and save on the gas bill whilst earning sats. We also have a cheap night rate so hoping that will be profitable but it’s slim margins.
