I run Knots on a full node, and want institutions to keep their hands off Bitcoin. Basically, I tick every #BIP110 pleb box. Unfortunately, I also read the proposal 🤔

Unpopular opinion: #BIP110 folks still can’t get over being forced to wear masks during COVID, while following a man who considers disobeying government orders a sin.

I kind of like the #BIP110 movement. It reminds me of Bitcoiners from the old days — underground. An opposition to the suits from big business who now attend BTC conferences and talk about regulations. BIP 110 is the plebs pissing off big regulated business. It would be a pity to fork ourselves away. Let’s stay and keep pissing them off.

I’m almost on the BIP 110 side. The only thing that worries me is this: I’m concerned that after tightening the OP_RETURN rules and other anti-spam measures, spammers will start bloating the UTXO set instead. That would be a worse outcome for node operators, since the UTXO set consumes RAM rather than SSD/HDD storage. Yes, I’ve heard Bitcoin Mechanic argue that this is only a theoretical concern and may never actually happen. But Bitcoin is still the best chain with the brightest future, so the incentive for spammers is significant. What’s your take on this?

OP_RETURN môže po validácii bloku aj s celým jpegom zmazať - jak? Nenašel jsem možnost jak smazat jen op_return z validniho bloku na mém uzlu 🤔🤔🤔
