This sounds like it's written by someone with a grudge against SUVs and pickups. I'm surprised that the article makes no mention of the growth of smart phones and touch screens in cars combined with distracted driving. Also, I wonder how much the overuse of highly reflective road signs could play into this. Driving through cities at night can be blinding at times. Especially on wet roads. Speaking of blinding, headlights on vehicles have become far too bright. Maybe I'm just getting old and my eyes aren't what they used to be.
