Granted there were moments (driving up Vesuvius) when I'm pretty sure avoiding a collision was simply luck.

Just back from 18 days in Italy. I miss the zippy Italian driving so much, and the little manual transmission Renault. I feel like I'm stuck in molasses on these roads in the states, and then u add in an automatic transmission; it's no wonder no one loves driving anymore!
