The excellent replies here should offer some solace….you’re human, forgive yourself, onward. The act of self reflection and regret shows high emotional iq. The most important (and difficult) part is to learn how to change the cycle so when presented with the same scenario, you alter your course. I’m still working on that in my late 40’s with children older than yours. Progress is the milestone on the journey to perfection.
