I think normal identification is possible to do within the frame of humanrights. To hold someone accountable for his actions and in order for contracts to work. I welcome every society of the present and the future, that comes with less control. And I think we nostriches could be coming forward with better ideas. I totally support the idea of selfdeclaration of identity. But until there is a society, that works with this principle, there is no real proof of concept. This means we can not know if it will work. But when you know a project, that delivers evidence for selfdeclaring identity to work, I am very happy to read.

To assume restricting the use of VPN by the words "look at steps that it shouldn’t be circumvented" is quiet a stretch. I doupt heavily anyone could find majorities to push such laws.

Thanks for explaining. Having the option would still be best. You could simply mention, that inserting the nsec will offer improved performance.

I shit my pants. But not sure if I should post it on nostr.

Where is the issue exactly? People can pay for their services. When a merchant sees, that people cheat on them, they will may search a solution. But is it probable, that merchants should be cheated oftenly? I doupt it. Like in every supermarket it is possible to steal things. But everyone knows that it is illegal and some percentage of stolen goods will be not discovered. This is not a problem for the supermarkets to sustain. Zero failure opportunity is not needed for an economy to work. It just should not fail too much.

There is no pac, since it would be ironic to centralize privacy advocates: Signal, proton mail, BRIAR, Libre Office, Linux and many distros of it and now the Marmot and Nostr protocol and what grows on them are important pilars. But longterm, they are more resilient when fragmented. Yes might less powerful. But might just harder to get rid of those too.

Elaborate. I am refering to the reelections in the midterms. Probably the most meaningful opportunity to restrict this president.

Maby a good idea. Maby also lead by very questionable figures. The biggest funder is a proud investor for the Trump Coin. Will librelanders uphold political freedoms as well? Or is the goal to create a egocentric neoliberal dream? Regarding, that concepts as the neoliberal trickle down effect have been proofe wrong, I highly doubt, this is the way to go. But also clear is that this project will go towards the most active ideas around this place. And I would defnitly not dismiss it yet. But much of the fascination seen in this documentary seems to be on conserving money at all cost. As if we coul eat the money. I hope philosophers will find their way to libreland.

Maby it is intresting to you as well. But a real anarchocapitalist would not support the state nor big cooperations. He explains it in a great way I think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSfiEniyUBY

This was true in the past. Neoliberal politics destroyed the American Dream: https://equitablegrowth.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/U.S.-economic-mobility-trends-and-outcomes.pdf High inequality results in less social mobility. https://news.yale.edu/2025/02/20/tracking-decline-social-mobility-us-and-how-reverse-trend Yale university economist Raj Chetty outlines, that in 1940 born children did 90% of the times better than their parents. In 1980 born only 50% of the children do better than their parents. https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/yaqlby/social_mobility_index/?rdt=51803 In a global comparison it seems still good as of 2020. But it is not at all one of the leading countries. Worse than most of Europe and worse than Canada. But still better than all in the south of the US. https://rooseveltinstitute.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/RI_The-Empirical-Failures-of-Neoliberalism_brief-202001.pdf "while neoliberal policy increased inequality as expected, it also resulted in slower growth, greater income inequality, stagnant wage growth, and decreased labor market mobility."

Depends on circumstances. In an ideal world yes. When consumer and producer of a good get equal opportunity to influence laws, to enforce existing laws and have similar options to choose an alternative consumer or producer. Then capitalism will work efficiently.

freemymind 🇨🇭
freemymind 🇨🇭 19h

Maby start by reading "das Kapital" of Karl Marx. You will come to understand, that he brought not at all ideas of taking away freedoms. But the idea for workers to organize, create cooperations, where they themselfes participate in owning the capital. In the value of work and its products. His work has value up to date, as liberal ideas that are true have important values up to today.

But you do understand, the theory of migration as a root of problems is not fact. It is a populist statement, that tries to gain the votes of people with low education. It is an easy ever repeating pattern. Populists offer very easy solutions to complex problems. They propose to lower prices, offer more and better payed jobs and lower wellfare cost through lower migration. Only that almost no empirical data supports this claim. Migrants do commit significantly less criminal acts. They receive and request significantly less welfare support. They are usually not allowed to participate in voting, but participate paying tax bills on the other hand. So anyone claiming migrants to profit more then others simply refuse to look at the world how it is. In the US there is a big problem with equal opportunity. Children from poor families get very little chances to improve their income compared to other countries with similar GDP per capita. Wealth is much more unequal than in other countries with similar GDP per capita. And this is very easy to proof, that neoliberal thoughts are the root of those systemic issues. Not left leaning politics. Not whatever. It is the lies of neoliberalism. Lies of Trickle down effect, stacking of wealth on those who are born into wealthy families. Destroying merit based culture. This is what neoliberalism does. This is what the current US government pushes and what increases poverty in a very fast pace.

Agree, that it is anyways a good idea, to quit the subscription, when prices are too high. I changed to only subscribe for single month instead of constantly using it.

Transparency is the best way to ensure sensitive use of such restrictions. Defnitly I see, that it has potential threats. But I want to point out, that it is a potential threat. Not a evil act of an authoritarian regime. In a democracy it is important that people like you and me understand the topics, so we can articulate specific requests instead of populist screaming in extreme ways. Since undifferentiated expression is what weakens political consens. We need to understand things in the complexity they have. There is no gain in facilitating theories below their complexity. And regulation around privacy, security and freedom of speech is always a thin line between defending the vulnerable while allowing everyone to express all important things. But I would say currently there is not much in europe, that is drastically restricted when talking about free speech, while the bad influence of plattforms algorythms towards the political poles is very strong and scientifically well proven.

freemymind 🇨🇭
freemymind 🇨🇭 29d

True. But when their contract simply does not allow price change, then they should be held accountable as everyone who does not hold their part of a contract. Why should big companies be treated any different in that?

freemymind 🇨🇭
freemymind 🇨🇭 2d

So you refer to the DSA. https://www.eff.org/issues/eu-policy-principles The EFF reports on it as a groundbreaking Backbone for individuals freedoms. The EFF defnitly has always been one of the more important organisations to be the voice of free citizens in the internet. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/01/systemic-risk-reporting-system-crisis In this report they write about the risks of surveilance and sharing of personal data it could bring. And it is fair to defend privacy rights, so no company is oblidged to save additional logs and offer faster data on its user to the police (especially, when it should be automated). But as all of these points are legitimate to criticize, it is simply not true, that the DSA is one big surveillance tool implemented by authoritarian regimes. To say this lacks the understanding of all the great regulation it brings towards BigTech, which are needed so much in order to defend an open internet. For example in the will of Google to stop users from installing their apk’s from whatever source they want, the DSA could help defend freedom. And yet unseen law cases have been buiot against BigTech with the help of DSA.

Finally for all the #AI #vibe fans 🙌 https://hackaday.com/2026/04/29/why-model-collapse-in-llms-is-inevitable-with-self-learning/ it is now mathematically proven, that a good AI can not improve through using its output as an input. And that well curated high quality information as input will always beat the AI, which just uses a big pile of non-curated data. #KI #intelligence #bubble

Seems as you use an asymmetric trust algorythm, that is simply unsustainable or you do not get to know enough new people. Or both at a time.

I have sinned. I voted for the swiss electronic identification. I thought it would be better, when the government does it, instead of a private company. I still do. But today I would not use digital identification. Even when it will mean to be excluded from a service or event.

Not at all ironic. I live in europe and I think no political praty nor any Justice system is currently attacking free press or discussions. Probably all is not perfect. There are issues I know. For example in Switzerland local courts tried to bring internet provider to block certain websites. But there is no legal foundation for it. I mean I assume you know, that there are states, where even small individual activists get fined or enprisoned for singing for peace in public. Defnitly nothing in this direction exists in Germany, France, Denmark or Switzerland. Freedom of expression is still valuated.

Maby also the european population is the last man (or woman) standing for a free world. Liturally, where in this planet, human rights are better protected?

Really cool to see all the great concepts you show us, on how to promote Bitcoin in real life. I will try to follow your footsteps and push for more acceptance. I feel in the leftist bubble I live the chellange is huge. Especially, when most people do fine with the current well established Banking Systems in Switzerland.

First part has nothing to do with your statement. But defnitly a good test to see if my concept of - holding secrets for a long time - works would be to see if one can still access the information when your device is lost. Wipe is not needed. But just check how to access your seedphrase without one of your devices. And make shure the different variants of access are decoupled geographically. So may a Backup at work or in the Parents appartment.
