I think this has nothing to do with faith. When you loose your keys or someone transfers your coins, you are simply not the owner anymore. Means you either work more to get back the wealth that is lost or pusiut happyness with a little less financial wealth anyway 😉 Accepting the world as it is is the way to go in my eyes.

Depends on the amount of developers and how much they are willing to invest. I assume most projects have near to zero money for that. But I think most of them are happy to receive good fixes for security issues. I would not expect nothing from community built projects. But simply be happy for the things that work well for the energy that went into it.

Are/were there people beleaving in selfcustody massadoption? I think people which actually belief in this do not understand the many ways in which keys can be lost or copied. It is no low level skill to keep the key private without loosing it over decades.

In Democracies it is often for changing public opinions. Anyway. Only because I feel save with my current government is still no legitimate reason to let them record all my internet activity. There can be bad people working in a good government. This entity storing my data can be hacked. The entity can change their management and goals. And when we look at the prices of storage it is clear that no one would delete data because of financial pressure. Therefore I try to neglect most data from being recorded and to politically push for privacy laws, which protect citizens from surveillance of whatever mask. Be it corporate surveillance or police surveillance. Both mean that someone else holds my data hostage and can use it against me, when they want to.
