This is actually the most genius technique. Bring a mean looking security camera, as Orwellian as possible, and set it up right at council, then just make some light comments about other random topics. Maybe a long rambling story of a time you thought someone was commuting a crime but turns out they were just a friendly neighbor...

If you have some time to kill, pickup the Blue Ridge Parkway south in Fancy Gap and run down to stone mountain state park. There's a pretty gnarly 5 mile loop trail there with waterfall and stone mountain
