One of the best podcast episodes I've listened too. I recommend everyone check it out. https://www.wiredforenergy.org/bitcoin-climate-villain-or-solution-with-daniel-batten/
Monero is obviously growing and for good reason
https://www.chainalysis.com/blog/2025-crypto-crime-report-introduction/ Stablecoins even being used on dnms is wild. Guess another reason they're constantly getting frozen. But xmr is becoming the dominant dnm currency and for obvious reasons.
Having trouble with family members joining my circle.
Bitcoin remains the dominant crypto on darknet markets powering 98% of transactions due to liquidity. In 2024, DNMs saw $2B in BTC inflows. 2025 estimates near $2.6B. Markets resilient despite takedowns. https://www.chainalysis.com/blog/crypto-drug-sales-darknet-markets-2026/
BIP110 and knots is malware

Privacy helps fungibility
The knotzi cries out in pain as he strikes you. Nothing about knots or bip 110 is about spam. They hate samourai wallet and its developers. They hate the true complexity of privacy and sovereignty. They hate that bitcoin isn't this clean and pure technology. In fact bitcoin is truly a cockroach. Born in a grimy corner of the internet, born from libertarian thought and anarchist philosophy. At the end of the day, these people are just saying "govern me harder daddy" #nostr #bitcoin
BIP110 is an IQ test and alot of people failed.
Blasphemy
Got to see Hoppe himself! Thats really cool!

As long as block space has any marginal cost below what some people are willing to pay for non-monetary uses, some amount of spam will find its way in. Consensus rules can raise the friction on specific techniques, but they can't remove the underlying incentive. #bitcoin
Bitcoin company?
No real anarcho capitalist supports bip 110. 1. Coercive rule imposition: Even though it's a soft fork, it relies on nodes enforcing new validity rules that make previously valid (and paid-for) constructions invalid. This is collective action redefining what counts as legitimate use of the protocol, rather than pure market discipline. 2. Changing the rules after the fact: People built businesses, collections, and protocols on top of Taproot's data-carrying capabilities. Using protocol changes to restrict that retroactively (or prospectively during the window) feels like ex post facto interference. 3. Precedent for control: Once you accept using consensus to "protect" Bitcoin from disfavored uses, the door opens to future interventions justified by the greater good or true purpose. Ancap theory is deeply skeptical of any mechanism that lets a subset of participants dictate terms to others via enforced rules. This goes beyond the existing block weight limit + fee market. It is an attempt to dictate the character of block space usage, to declare certain paid transactions illegitimate at the protocol level.
