It's been a moment. I'm glad you didn't abandon the npub. ๐Ÿค™

If it wasn't clear, the Archons are the real controllers of the matrix. They act through people who are unconscious (not in the present). When you are living in the present you're able to avoid the Archons mischief & illusions. To be in the world but not of it, so to speak.

The gnostic view is that the physical is the domain of the Demiurge & his Archons. The Archons & the Demiurge are aware some humans possess something outside this realm within them. The divine spark of Sophia is beyond the reach & comprehension of both the Demiurge & a Archons. They can control everything in the physical but the divine spark transcends the physical. They fear it in their ignorance & seek to keep it hidden from humans through identification with the physical (the drama). The Gnostics didn't believe the Demiurge was evil or malevolent. They just believed him to be ignorant of the higher realms & hence the true nature of the realm he created. It's almost a mirror of the ignorance of men who are unaware of the divine spark within. The spark is there within them (if they're lucky) but it is hidden under layers of trauma & conditioning. The Gnostics acknowledged that some people don't carry a spark (NPCs or biological portals). When you say God as in the One God. I assume you're referring the Jewish God, the one true God of the old testament, the Demiurge or Creator God. The Gnostics differentiated been creations & eminations. Sophia is the emination that created the Demiurge which then created the world. I use "Source" or the "All That Is' to adress what the Gnostics called the Monad. The Monad is incomprehensible & doesn't need worship or reverence. It is simply the source from which all creators & hence creations eminate from. It is said in the gospel of Judas that Jesus was sent by Barbello (the highest emination) & that only Judas recognised him as such.

I'm not triggered, I just didn't understand the perspective of the judgement. There was little context to the original note & I don't know what you see. We see things differently & I value your opinion & perspective. I've not been at a conference where Saylor presented. I've never worshipped any celebrity. While I admire certain prominent bitcoiners, I don't put them on a pedestal. I find worship in all it's forms distasteful, so I can see why you were effected by witnessing it. Theres something weird about large crowds in general that I don't like. What you've explained makes your position much clearer to me, thank you.

It was designed to trade at $100 & the stated return % is based on a $100 per share. It did this by having a floating % rate. If it's below the rate the fiat yield increases. This happened earlier this year when bitcoin dipped. So far price dips as people arbitrage the dividend payments each month. Dividends are still flowing & unless you need the capital now you're all good. I've heard bitcoiners call it a safe place to stick your fiat buffer. I've argued that because excess demand is absorbed by ATM you'll have periods like this. The effective dividend is now 13% but the nominal yield is 11.5%. If the unit price doesn't recover by June 30, I expect they'll bump it up higher. Theres no peg to be maintained. There never was but people assumed that's what it was. It's fascinating to me to watch these incentives play out in real time. The fact that it's stayed this far below par for so long says something interesting. It's a little too early to call Saylor's experiment over.

Who's turning him into a profet? I'm not seeing that expressed anywhere & I'm not seeing any devestated investors. I can't see a reason to be calling people morons. Maybe I've stuck my head in the sand but I'm trying hard to see what it is that I'm missing. I see him as a leader of a fiat company that's running a novel experiment to extract value out of the fiat system. He then distributes that value to all holders of bitcoin & not in a selfless way. He's doing it because he believes that it will make strategy shareholders wealthy & make him a legend in the fiat world. I think he's doing it for ego. He's effectively calling out the fact that nobody ever intends to pay the debt back. It's impossible to pay it back & it's becoming obvious to anyone paying attention. I don't think he wanted STRC to succeed as money, he just wanted to pump Bitcoin, to raise capital. The incentives with this product are fascinating & the outcome of the experiment is far from clear. Only the forced sellers of STRC lost money, dividends are still being paid. I'm beginning to suspect that people are angry at him for extracting value from the USD. Maybe they believe that it can't be sustainable? I believe it's sustainable while you can exchange USD for bitcoin. It could also be just people projecting the blame of their lost purchasing power onto him. Bear markets are hard emotionally even if you bought bitcoin for other reasons.

You too? What are you seeing that I can't? Who's lost value?

Brisket
Brisket 9h

Who are you projecting your reality on to? I don't see what you see. ๐Ÿคท

Nope, it's just a preferred stock that has more sellers than buyers. If you understood how STRC works you'd know that the $100 target is just for calculating the dividend. It's not a peg. Nothing special happens if it drops to $70 or even $20. The only thing that happens is they slowly increase the notional return on a share (currently 11.5%). I suspect it's the shitcoiners who were running a token over the top. I think they've sold their underlying & deployed their capital elsewhere. This stock has a pretty small addressable market at the moment but it's held by a lot of bitcoiners. If they sold Bitcoin & bought STRC in October they'd be sitting pretty with the dividends covering the drop in unit price. To sell STRC now & buy the Bitcoin or MSTR dip would be a pretty solid move & may be another reason it's dropped 12%. Who knows - I didn't make that play last year because I still thought bitcoin was in a bull market.

Theres a beta feature that does but I didn't tick that box. You'd need a decent sized USB drive.

I've only just realised I have ADHD & I'm still figuring out what that means. Learning to make things interesting for myself (rather than more important or urgent) seems to help me getting actual stuff done. Ai has been useful in understanding it & learning to leverage it. I see it as a differentiator rather than a handicap.

Thanks man I expected to see it as an alert of a certain event from the Amethyst npub. It happens so quickly that I don't tend to usually pay it much attention.

Brisket

That alert that pops up prompting me to zap the developers of a release disappears after I dismiss it. Can you make it readable later? As much as I want to zap it now I don't want to zap it straight after updating. I'm sure many are like me & don't see the value until much later.

Can you imagine eating something that has had that much love & attention put into it? ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’š

I haven't windsurfed for 2 decades. Been cleaning out my garage with all my sails, masts & boards stored. I don't know if I've got all the gear to put together a single working rig. I also don't know where I'd find a windsurfing shop here. It must be done though. That feeling when the harness takes your weight off the board & you start planing is like nothing else. Pure freedom

Yeah the smoker is harder to control temps. They key concept of slowly raising the internal meat temperature to cook it without burning, can be replicated in many appliances. You can get a very similar outcome using an oven set to about 90โฐC. My current favourite smoker is a bullet smoker I purchased for $50 second hand.

So you still worship the Demiurge? They don't hate God so much as fear those who carry the divine spark.
