Too chip in on a long thread, Nostr should promote what it is. It's never going to be twitter and i dont think it was ever intended to be. Nostrs greatest strength is it's decentralised, non -coparate structure that would be ideal to help build communities and conect people based on interests especially when censorship is a risk. Don't try to be twitter. That space is taken. We need to carve out our own. It's still a child as a protocol, it will struggle to find its place during its adolescence but it will come into its own. One nip I'd like to see is a notification someone has followed me. I have to go through my following list ever month or so to see if anyone interesting has popped up. Anyway, that's my thoughts. Let twitter be twitter. Nostr needs to be nostr.

I keep thinking about doing a podcast on how to aviod that crisis or at least survive it.. But my own self doubt keeps getting the better of me. I don't think the system is "designed" so to speak. That implies people 200 yrs ago knew exactly how society would be. Rather it's evolved over the centuries favouring one group or another as time has gone on and who yeilded power. First past the post isn't great. But it produces more stability than proportional representation. I'd be open to exploring the idea of removing the ability to past legislation from parliment and giving more authority to local councils and the monach to make decisions. Reduce them to a bebating society which is pretty much all they are anyway. I also like the American idea of the state legislature voting for senators prior to 1913.. we could reform the lords in the same way. Local councils voting to send a representative to the house, but you must be a local and recived lordship or damehood from the monarch to qualify. Sorry for the wall of text, just spit balling ideas 🤣🤣

It's a shame ol' Rupert didnt join AdvanceUK as they are registered political party. Nothing screams poor tatics like posting how your going to be tearing the state apart whilst relying on a state run body to give you permission to be on the ballot.
