The site is looking better than I've seen it before. I've got some unsolicited UX suggestions if you're interested to check them out: 1. On mobile the search results only load one image per row. In the screenshot above I see 5, which looks much better imo. 2. The search function pulled up a few items related to my keyword and then many more which were not. It would be nice if there was a division between those sections. 3. A link on each item listing that can take you to other items posted by the same vendor would be great. There is a loss of anonymity associated with that choice, but most vendors (now) would likely benefit from that. Giving vendors the option to turn it off could be good for those who don't want their items linked. I thought of the second and third suggestions while trying to find a leathermint wallet and only one of three populated when I searched 'wallet', but I saw all three when I searched 'soap'. 🤙

Yeah clearly diplomacy is over. It seems the Trump admin (or the deep state or whatever) thinks they can just muscle the situation using energy and weapons. That may work for a little while, but it'll end in catastrophy. A majority of Americans are not happy with Trump, but they are also ignorant towards how bad things can get (as you said). While we are supposedly an 'affluent' nation, things are not good here. People are stressed, sick, overweight, distracted, and addicted. "We the people" have been asleep at the wheel long enough for democracy to actually die. Hoppe might say that was inevitable, and he could be right.

Being largely ignorant of physics, I can't even approach the basics of the question you posed without a lot of reading, but philosophically I can see there are some assumptions baked in. Namely that Bitcoin itself represents reality and energy/physical matter. All of this needs support. The bitcoin network utilizes and relies upon physical energy, but so does television and pizza for that matter. i.e., one cannot make pizza without expending energy. In order to engage properly with these topics, I think it's important to lay out the entire thought process from first principles. It's possible your paper has done this; admittedly I have not felt compelled to read it yet. Many of the notes I have seen on this topic have been interesting, and I'm hopeful that you are onto something, but I don't think baiting physicists into debate is the same as doing proper research. Likewise, any layman's 'intuitive' understanding could just as likely be naivety on their part.

In a holotropic sense this can be true. At the quantum level every fragment (microcosm) of the universe contains the infinite potential of the entire universe (macrocosm), however the same can be said about any microcosm, such as pizza for example, or microsoft excel for that matter. Making bitcoin the centerpoint of one's philosophy and theology (logos) seems like a slipperly slope into idolatry and delusion to me.

I find it unlikely that Tether will start using lightning as its base layer. I've heard them talk about it for years, but the tradeoffs don't seem worthwhile and I haven't seen any updates on the progress. If I was running a business as successful as Tether I wouldn't risk it. Safer for them to stay with a centralized shitcoin they can control because as Shinobi points out here, lightning wouldn't make stablecoins any more censorship resistant.

given that Tether is currently sensoring transactions for governments, I am skeptical about the benefits of them owning 5% of the hashrate. I can see several potential game theory avenues ahead, but personally I'd love to see Tether pushing for a more decentralization of mining pools. Is that something they would be willing to focus time and attention to?
