Maybe find the nearest radio club or amateur radio operator and try to put your node there, with antenna on their aerial tower.

Isn’t there a way to attach a fibreglass omnidirectional antenna on the outside of your dwelling? Maybe just on a temporary standoff held by the closed window frame. That would at least give maximum range on that side.

Might just need another node with high gain , outdoor antenna to discover distant nodes.
