Exactly 2 weeks from now (30 September 2026), Google starts requiring full identity verification for Android devs. It's basically KYC for Android devs 💀 For now, it only hits 4 countries: 🇧🇷 Brazil 🇮🇩 Indonesia 🇸🇬 Singapore 🇹🇭 Thailand Google will test how the system works there and in 2027 they plan to roll this out worldwide. What Google wants from every Android developer: - One-time $25 fee for a full-distribution account - Identity verification (name, address, contacts + ID) - Register your package names by proving ownership of the signing key In two weeks, a new era begins...
