Exactly 2 weeks from now (30 September 2026), Google starts requiring full identity verification for Android devs. It's basically KYC for Android devs ๐ For now, it only hits 4 countries: ๐ง๐ท Brazil ๐ฎ๐ฉ Indonesia ๐ธ๐ฌ Singapore ๐น๐ญ Thailand Google will test how the system works there and in 2027 they plan to roll this out worldwide. What Google wants from every Android developer: - One-time $25 fee for a full-distribution account - Identity verification (name, address, contacts + ID) - Register your package names by proving ownership of the signing key In two weeks, a new era begins... Google: "This rollout is an industry-wide effort to create a safer ecosystem" So enjoy the utopia, I guessโฆ because legal personal freedom keeps shrinking so fucking fast
