I’m sure everyone’s growing tired of reading about Coinkite and their carelessness. It was a wake up call for everyone in the space. Here are some important things I was reminded of: 1. Don’t trust, verify. I trusted a company with my children’s inheritance. I believed their advertising and all the hype brought on by BTC influencers. 2. Complacency kills. Something I’ve been told throughout my career and I’m always reminded why it’s true. I felt safe and wasn’t managing my Bitcoin like I should have been. 3. Layer 0, the people. I remember hearing about Layer 0 on a podcast (I can’t remember which one or I’d credit them) and this is a good example of it. Although it was this layer that caused this (Coinkite retards) it was also this layer that came together to support and help each other. Without this layer I would’ve been screwed, so thank you all for the warnings and spreading the news quickly.
