With that said, if you choose one, and there's nobody around, or you don't like it, you can easily change it to the other. The vast majority of devices can run either protocol.

No. They speak different languages and are used on different frequencies.

As far as I'm aware of, #MeshCore does not have a licensed mode like that.

#MoneroTalk and #MoneroTopia have broken the bonds of #YouTube and now host their own #PeerTube instance. 🖕 https://watch.monerotalk.live/ #Monero

I changed my #MeshCore node name to "CQ Field Day " MyCallsign I wonder if I could actually get points if I made a contact? I know it would have to be direct and not through repeaters, but I don't know if the encryption would work against me or not.

Analysts are speculating that #SpaceX could potentially acquire #TMobile US for 996.8 million #Monero.

The idea of changing the block time in Monero has been discussed. However, the idea of changing the issuance schedule has not. Currently, 0.6 Monero are issued per block, which is every two minutes. If, for example, we decided to change the block time to one minute, each block would then have 0.3 Monero issued instead of 0.6 to compensate for the faster block time. If we were to change the block time to every four minutes instead of every two minutes, we would then also just double the amount of Monero released per block to keep it steady. It's true that Monero's inflation never absolutely hits zero, but it asymptotically approaches it, since each new Monero is building on top of a slightly larger base. This was chosen because in Bitcoin, only the people who transact on layer 1 pay the price of securing the network. But in Monero, everybody pays the price of securing the network. Also, while the idea of changing the block time has been discussed in Monero, I don't see it as very likely to occur. I think the issuance schedule and the block time are pretty much set in stone.

Java i2p

Okay, i am yet again going to try #i2p. This time I have configured it as a system service on my local server that also runs my #Monero daemon and p2pool. This machine runs 24/7. I got the router console to be available over LAN and gave it a username and password. And now I'm going to forward the HTTP and SOCKS5 proxy ports through UFW so that I can use it on other LAN devices. I also have the bandwidth numbers set to ~32 mbps in and 8mbps out. This is by far the best chance I possibly have to get it to function properly, because every time I have tried I2P in the past, I have been incredibly disappointed with its speed. If this doesn't make it work decently, then I do not know what the hell will.

Piconero. The 12th decimal place of a Monero

Damn, #Monero is right near its 1.5 year SMA. Talk about a good time to pick up more picos.

I'm assuming you are aware of this, but an open weight model is not an open source model. I've heard it compared to having somebody hand you a car engine versus having the blueprint to build the car itself. An open-weight model does not provide you the training data that was used to teach the AI, does not provide you checkpoints for the AI during training, and doesn't provide you the code that makes up the model itself. The only model I am aware of that is truly fully open source is OLMO from AI2.

It looks like you have to meet up in person in order to exchange goods though, which may limit the reach of the platform at least for a while. I can understand not wanting to give out your address, but I don't know if the Monero economy is quite big enough in physical space to accomplish that.
