Edit
mint-custodial perhaps
Unruggable is simply the wrong adjective Non custodial doesn't fit right either, although it might be technically true You might say it's a self-custodial mint? It certainly ought to be the default way to run a mint! Exciting times.
The majority of end users won't see any difference. Their funds are gone. They were effectively rugged.
The mint (or data center) operator can power off the mint so it's definitely ruggable The non custodial part though does have some technical nuance. And of course this approach ought to be much safer for users. Very nice!!
It could just be the fact you are running on a Pi Start 9 stopped recommending them also
Just tried Zeus 13 - wow, it's great! Easy to setup and much faster startup time. The ecash integration is also very well thought out. And it's possible that it is slightly faster than minibits to get to the payment screen, with the caveat that the app must **already be open** From startup, minibits will get you to payment QR scan in under 2 seconds Zeus with LDK still takes around 20 seconds, in the quick test made just now Another awesome thing about Zeus is that the fees are very low (they were zero in our tests) so fair to say that this wallet is a great alternative to Phoenix
We haven't found a faster (private) lightning wallet The alternatives have significant "wakeup" time Fees are also very low
Does it run Asahi Linux?
- requires a phone number - requires access to that number, or your location, when changing devices - use of captcha services - black box / closed source / centralised backend - persistent identifier that doxes you across group chats whilst signal is much better than TG or WA, it lags behind Simplex, nostr private messengers, and matrix. The persistent identity is the biggest issue. If we encouraged our staff to talk to clients over signal, their personal (signal) identities would be doxxed. It is much harder (and costlier) to spin up a dedicated work (or project) identity with signal than with the aforementioned services.
Providing a lifeline for those without banking relationships
It's not them, it's their platform provider Does it start with sk- ? Workaround is to launch with regular ssh key then add the signer pubkey
Nice progress!
