... spoken as someone who's lived with high expectations. It's now that the weak men created from good times become the strong men. Might not be pretty but who ever said your generation deserved an easy ride?

It does in low time preference. As the system rots around us, sound money is an oasis in a desert of hyperinflating paper that can be printed to ♾️

Interesting back story about this tour. "Taking it back" is a slap in the face to the 2 former (and original) members of the Guess Who. Gary Peterson (drums) and Jim Kale (bass) had the rights to the name "The Guess Who". Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings sued to reclaim the name which they're now using on tour. The reasoning behind the law suit centered around writing credits. Randy and Burton wrote the biggest hits people come to listen to and enjoy, but never knew who the actual performers were. As a result, Peterson and Kale were able to tour under the name and sell out shows with hired gun players who got all the accolades. Randy and Burton could not use the name legally and would use Bachman/Cummings on the bill. The problem was, most people didn't connect their names to the great songs they wrote. As a consequence, Guess Who shows sold out with what at one point was literally none of the original band, while Randy and Burton would bring in lesser crowds and typically only the die hard fans who had followed their career. Now out on the road Randy Bachman (82) and Burton Cummings (78) are likely on their last hurrah. The band behind them (Burton's long time backing group - The Carpet Frogs) never recorded with the Guess Who, whereas Peterson played on every Guess Who track and Kale a founding member of the group are more or less snubbed for their contributions and as the name of the tour suggests, they're no longer recognized and their photos in band group shots are even blurred out. The ultimate diss. - inside dirt comes from some friends of mine who have very close ties to all the musicians mentioned - ~ Rock and Roll is a vicious game.

Miles was the birth of cool. "Kind of Blue" A misunderstood genius, he took jazz to a place that the music didn't know it needed to go. Spawning a new genre eventually referred to as Fusion, few understood at the time what he was crafting and where it was headed. Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Return to Forever, to name a few projects, took Miles' concepts to a whole new level. Miles is deservedly mentioned with the giants of jazz, Armstrong, Parker, Coltrane, yet his brilliance carried over to influence everything from prog to funk to hip hop. Regrettably I never saw Miles perform live. Those who had seen him in his latter career often recall being somewhat disappointed only to reflect years later that they had time-travelled and could now appreciate what he was creating at that time. It's like Miles arrives when we're ready.
