Social media to me was conversations with strangers and irl connections, like a chat room. The front page of the internet would be a curated site, but these things really started to mix in the 10s didn’t they— pretty much across all platforms you had people sharing links instead of their own content and thoughts

Not talking notes, talking media. Notes are pretty much permanent except for relays who honor the request not to show something you request to delete (or all relays stop storing your notes for some reason). If you self host media or use nostr build, you can always delete the actual media so it’s gone even if the note persists somewhere. I don’t think primal has this option if you upload your media to their server as you construct a note.

I like nostr but increasingly feel like having any digital footprint is a bad idea, can’t articulate why, just pulling from the aether. At the same time, keeping this going motivates myself and potentially others to keep the internet free and private.
