If we are to have e-ID, sounds like the best one going. Swiss rejected a private company managed system in 2021. New system is 100% government run and managed with privacy focus. Data, such as is this person over 18, is stored locally on device and only proofs are transferred, not names. It's voluntary and because it requires full referendum to change the system, probably less corruptible. If a system like this works, then we could dismantle shadow ID systems. Shadow ID is the real problem. Attack surveillance capitalism at the source, its free data collection, hoarding and AI inclusion. Only allow collection of data if approved by the user via an e-ID zero knowledge proof. Then make data users pay for the use of that data and end surveillance capitalism.
