Nostr is a scam! Probably bitcoin too?? I believe satoshi had the best intentions. But the people who are now at the front of the Bitcoin movement are running it as a scam and benefiting greatly from it. Take Nostr for example, they promote it as an anti censorship new type of social media where no one can ban you. That’s a lie. If you post something they don’t like they’ll shadowban you by blocking you from all the important relays. You don’t know what relays are? Well they count on it. Most people don’t have the time to get into how it works. But be sure they can effectively ban you. And by “they” I mean that group of bitcoin “influencers” who are promoting this new “life style” and social network. By lying about it. I know first hand because they shadowbanned me from most relays. Sure I can post but it gets to almost nobody, remember the old twitter? Yeah it’s the same. It’s controlled by a group of people acting as gatekeepers. Nostr is not censorship resistant it’s a lie, they shadowban people they don’t like. Also you can’t block other accounts, so if they decide they don’t like you they put “a tag” on you, automated accounts that ad an automated response to every post you make (like “this is a bot” “ignore this account” “scam account”) and that’s it, you’re shadowbanned and also the little reach you have will see your assigned tag. Given by the people who control the platform. It’s all a big scam, a circle of the same people promoting each other as the greatest bitcoin voices and of course taking donations and promoting stuff, traveling to beaches for conferences to hear themselves talk about the same for an hour then go party at the beach. All sponsored by the poor fools who think soon they’re gonna be just like them, traveling the world just to speak about bitcoin. It’s all a big scam They support only their own people. Take that Isabella girl for example, On her geyser fund page they have given her $14,000 USD on one campaign alone. Oh and she’s asking for another $10,271 to renovate her “bitcoin” cafe. Guess where it is. Isla Mujeres, Mexico! Isla Mujeres is a luxury vacation destination in Mexico. Very clever to go live there permanently and make people help you pay for it. Also most people don’t know that Cancun (another famous vacation destination) is just 10 minutes away from Isla Mujeres. ‬Wow the poor girl is working hard on a desert island. But of course they promote her heavily, the same circle of “influencers”, and she gets a lot of donations from fools who think they’re so smart giving money to a girl just because she looks nice (barely). And they think they may have a chance with her or something. They feel so smart because they’re “supporting bitcoin”. The only one being smart here is her and her bitcoin friends. And don’t even bother with a geyser fund page of your own, they are calling me a scammer because I had the misfortune of having to ask for help for my son due to a really big problem with insurance. My fund had a goal of only $1,800 to help our family. And of course almost immediately they started screaming scammer out of nowhere. Meanwhile she has recieved at the very least $30,000 USD in donations. I was never contacted by anyone, not even a simple DM, not a single question about my situation. They banned me from most relays because you know, I’m not a bitcoin “influencer”.
