The US now has one of the highest, if not the highest, net interest expenses relative to tax receipts of any Advanced or Emerging country -- at over 20%. The debt loop / spiral has started in the US. There future is some combination of higher inflation, slowing growth and higher taxes. Protect yourself.

The Treasury has been issuing about $550bn per week of short term paper, on average, all year. This $1tn projection is brand new, on top of existing issuance. So, in context, I think FT is saying that the Treasury will be increasing its short term borrowing by ~26% moving forward. Holy shit. Money printer going from brrrr to BRRRRRRRRR.
