If you tell people that a minority of globalist vultures is killing and maiming innocent men, women and children and stealing their resources they will probably stare at you disinterestedly and begin to think about what they are having for dinner that evening. Tell people that a politician is not paying his taxes, on the other hand, and they will probably erupt in fury. This may sound like a fairly depressing indictment of modern humanity, but it merely demonstrates that the overwhelming number of people take a purely selfish interest in political affairs and much of their anger stems from jealousy and envy. This is why many of them seem more preoccupied with people receiving benefits (welfare) than with those who run the major banks and corporations. Meanwhile, the loathsome parasites who were involved in the "Panama Papers" scandal are certainly deceitful and corrupt, especially when everyone else is expected to pay tax, but all taxation is exploitative and must come to an end. Taxation has its roots in religion, when kings and shamen began demanding tribute from the people around them on account of acquiring some kind of mystical status. For anarchists and revolutionaries, however, the issue of taxation offers us a means of success, because we know from history that when levels of taxation become increasingly demanding it is precisely the time when a population begins to rise up and rebel against the system. This is why Western governments are always falling over themselves in their efforts to keep taxation as low as possible. It is certainly not done for philanthropic reasons, that’s for sure, or to get a party elected as we are led to believe. One way of creating problems for Western governments is by supporting revolution on the periphery and making sure they lose control of the communities in the Third World where crops are being exported to the West at the point of a gun. The disruption of their overseas operations means the Western economies are damaged, they are forced to raise taxes and then we get the desired response from the people. In other words, whilst this kind of corruption is sickening we still need things to get a lot worse before people actually start fighting back. We can also assist the process by setting up workers’ co-operatives and a black market that allows people to trade outside of the existing capitalist system and also try to cut down on how much we contribute to the economy in general. Over time, as the authorities lose control due to people witholding taxes and thus making it impossible for them to function effectively (including non-payment of the police and army that protect them) we will see the growth of "no-go" areas and the spread of autonomous, self-sufficient villages. The entire social security (welfare) structure must go, too, because that also postpones the threat of revolution. That might sound harsh, but one way of compensating for the removal of the state "safety-net" is pooling our resources to help those in need. I am not talking about implementing this on a large scale, of course, but we must concentrate on helping those we love and care about and construct our alternative communities now in order to prepare for the hard times that lie ahead.
