Strongly disagree. Portability is embedded in Bitcoin’s native properties. NGU isn’t. Hyphenation, market manipulation, narrative suppression all can negatively impact NGU and adoption and Bitcoin’s network effect and first mover advantage. NGU is literally all that matters. It means more people are adopting bitcoin AND Bitcoin’s native properties.

I’d be super disappointed if one of those is Preston. Guy was instrumental on my journey and I feel like a core piece of my bitcoin experience is gone. It seemed like he was losing interest in bitcoin there towards the end. You could sense the frustration with cold storage bitcoin … the BTCTC craze really caught him and distracted his energy into other shiny things (AI, etc.).

have you applied your approach for filtering narratives to NOSTR? Anything that the NOSTR community could learn from your insights? What types of posts did bitcoin twitter have 2016-2021 and how do we build that type of engagement into the NOSTR experience?

To the earlier classes, you should be as hopeful and encouraging for the class of 2021 and after in terms of NGU as the early classes were to you (and you were to yourselves). NGU is bitcoin’s primary technological advantage to all other forms of money. If that fails, there is no meaningful value prop for most people. Adoption follows NGU. NGU unlocks a bitcoin mentality across more businesses, political situations, and cultural norms. NGU allows for more technical funding into bitcoin as a protocol and into bitcoin services and integrations. NGU is all that matters. And NGU is fun. We need to refocus on NGU. As an entire bitcoin culture…just focus our energy, our vibes, and our engagement on NGU. All the other solutions flow from their in our own unique skills and interests. The marketplace will diversify bitcoin and its application within economies. Our job is to get NUMBER TO GO UP!

I think the problem with NOSTR is that the influencers came over here and didn’t engage with the broader community. They stayed in their bubble, socialized with the “cool kids,” and lost focus on the message - NGU is how we win. This resulted in less Twitter engagement (in addition to the algorithm changes), fractured and silo’d communities, and plebs that felt disconnected from the ethos of bitcoin that prior generations of bitcoiners had to hold them together. Not sure how “we” recover from this but it is clear that we need an effort to restore what was lost. Bitcoin hasn’t been fun for 4+ years. And bitcoin thrives when it is fun.

Resource gathering, transport, and utilization in space will be less profitable than commodity production and utilization on Earth. It’ll be a worse ExxonMobil or Saudi Aramco. Starlink is a slightly better Verizon. Competition will drive those margins down. And future developments will be decades (if not centuries) down the road. The PV is atrocious. This is obvious on inspection. The SpaceX IPO is a psyop. It’s a shame so many bitcoiners are caught up in it. cc:

People leave nostr because the content on nostr is crummy. And the network engagement is crummy. And because bitcoin’s purchasing power is crummy. Also because and became a political podcast.
