I first heard about #bitcoin in 2013. I had just finished my undergraduate in #psychology and my electrical engineering friend and I were catching up at a Chinese BBQ restaurant. He was explaining how we were going to use our phones to unlock doors and that the currency of the future was going to be digital, and that China was already using bitcoin. I thought he was borderline delusional. By 2018, I only started to understand what a Bitcoin was when an ex-partner of mine showed me what a bitcoin mining facility looked like. Which was a warehouse full of giant computers, that were constantly βminingβ, which required a lot of electricity not only to power the computers but to cool down the space. I was starting to be able to conceptualize what a bitcoin entailed. This weekend, I learned about the economical rational as to why we should own bitcoin and the sovereignty, and thereby the mental, emotional and spiritual freedom that comes with it. #LearningBitcoin #Vancouver
