OK, here we go again. In 2 weeks, I am doing show #2 on Radio Hatteras. I am having fun on this new project to create a monthly show about Progressive Rock called the _Prog Rock Hour_. If you are local, you can tune in on FM Radio 101.5 (Buxton/Avon/Frisco) or 99.9 (Tri-Villages). Or you can stream online either by finding the Radio Hatteras app in your app store or go to our website: https://www.radiohatteras.org/listen-live NOTE: I am already working on the December show, so feel free to send song suggestions. #radiohatteras #hatteras #outerbanks #obx #obxlife #rush #progrock #progressiverock

I took this picture this morning at Ramp 43. This shows you a little about how much sand moves during these storms. This post that is now only a few inches above the sand used to be 3 feet above the sand before the storms hit over the last few weeks. And this is nothing compared to the sand that moved in north Buxton. #obx #storms #storms2025 #outerbanks #theouterbanks #obxlife

While we are now cut-off from the rest of the world until probably tomorrow evening (due to ocean overwash closing down Hwy 12), the Pabst delivery guys will find a way to send in much needed relief. #storms #storm #hatteras #hatterasisland #pbr #pabstblueribbon

I screen shot this yesterday on NCDOT of the folks working on rebuilding the berm in the canal zone, here on Hatteras Island. I am not sure what the reasoning is to keep going when there is a few feet of water on the road and ocean just flowing. I can only imagine that it is trying to stay ahead of it. Just seems a bit like Sisyphus pushing that rock. #storms #storms2025 #noreaster

We are in the midst of a nor'easter storm here on Hatteras Island. I took my handheld weather station with me and mounted it on a weather vane I created and 3d printed. Jamaica might be getting hit by named storm Melissa, and that is all the media cares about. But, we are having a nice little storm here. https://youtu.be/ko3uwRveJCg #weather #storms #storms2025

For anyone interested, I am doing a radio program on Radio Hatteras called the "Prog Rock Hour", which focuses on Progressive Rock music (you know: RUSH, Yes, old Genesis, King Krimson, Zappa, etc.). If you are local, you will be able to listen to it on your FM radio 99.9 in the Tri-Villages. and 101.5 down here in Buxton/Frisco/Hatteras. If you are remote, you can stream it from www.radiohatteras.org. I am looking forward to feedback since this was my first time ever on air and first time using the editing tools. It is very rudimentary right now and hoping to learn from this first show. Below is the promo copy that is going to be broadcast prior to the show: "Join me for The Prog Rock Hour, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. It’s a journey through a sound that dared to be different — where rock met classical, jazz, and imagination itself. Progressive rock isn’t just music, it’s storytelling in rhythm and time. From swirling keyboards and soaring guitars to intricate time changes and epic soundscapes — it’s rock with no boundaries. Experience the evolution… on The Prog Rock Hour, only on Radio Hatteras."
