yeah cashu or other custodial swaps are not great for large amounts. ideally you hold always the keys for the majority of your funds, and leverage custodians only for convenience. Right tool for the right job!

yes, the mint [custodian] has full control over the underlying asset [bitcoin] at all times. It is no different in that regard than any other custodian
