Once every other day for about the last week and a half or 2 weeks. Or somewhere around there.
Yeah, she's cute enough that I'll get over it. 😅 I am usually awake early, just not 3am early
The sun isn't even up yet and I've already finished my morning coffee
Is what is causing the high usage warning?
It's a really great service! I try to recommend it whenever the chance arises. Like today!
wss://spatia-arcana.com is offline right now because the VPS provider is experiencing a power outage. It went down right in the middle of a demonstration (sorry 😅 it wasn't the software afterall!) so I knew right away, but sent me a DM within a couple minutes even though I have it set for the least frequent checks.
😂 that's an astute observation.
I'm curious what the machine whisperers will have to say after some scrutiny, because from a user perspective, this sounds very compelling. This fellow is the umbrel guy, right?
This reply was intended for a different place. Pardon my chemical imbalance 🫠😅
Totally replied to you in the wrong place 😅
I'm gonna turn up the geological nerdiness to a macro scale for a minute... This is a syncline: Not far off, to what would be the left in this photo, is a thrust fault subduction zone where the younger plate was overtaken by an older plate. (It's a cool spot to explore. There's a 2 ft wide creek at the center of it. Within a couple of steps, you can be in 2 very different geologic, and in turn ecologic, environments.) The massive thrust pressure and relatively high rate of speed at which the thrusting events occurrd created a series of dramatic synclines and anticlines that make up the backbone of the entire ridge. This particular section buckled and collapsed, creating the canyon that channels the river that is there today.
Finding that spot is a whole other matter 😅
On the latest edition of strangeness with strangers... I went for a walk along a stretch of river I don't visit often. The water level is at a near record low, so I thought maybe I could find some more agates or other cool rocks that aren't usually exposed. I wasn't completely out of civilization, but far enough that there were no houses or traffic nearby. I hadn't been walking very long nor found anything pretty yet, when a barefoot old man in swimming trunks came down the bank from above. He walked over to me and said, "Hi, I'm here to go for a swim. What are you doing?" I told him I was looking for agates since the water was so low. We talked about the conditions. He asked what I do with the agates. I told him that was still in debate. He said, "Well, I am going to swim now." As he turned to walk away, I looked down at the water's edge and a little glimmer of yellow caught my eye. I reached into the water and pulled out the most beautiful little vibrant bumblebee colored agate. Of course I was excited, so I doubled down on searching for others in that area. I went up and down that stretch of river, as the old man swam a few hundred yards away. I found nothing but a few underwhelming fossils. On my way back to the spot where you can easily ascend the bank, the old man came walking out of the water and up to me. He said "Here, I found this for you. It's not an agate but it's pretty," and he handed me a sun bleached mussel shell with a perfectly shimmery interior. I said, "Oh that's beautiful, thank you," but by the time I looked up, he was over the bank and gone. I went up the bank, too, and he was nowhere to be seen. No car. No one walking on the road. Nothing. I'm not sure if I talked to God or a magical merman today, but I found 1 pretty little agate and received an awesome gift, so either way, I'm happy about it. 😊
Spatia-Arcana is a free, by-membership community relay. I am not operating it to provide generic assured data redundancy for anyone. Any redundancy that I do have to offer is a bonus. That said, with all the current chaos, I'll be deleting a lot of notes and/or temporarily disabling members until things cool off. I can't show nostr to my irl friends right now and expect them to be like "Wow, cool... who are these angry people? Whats a cold card? Who is the pos they want to lynch?" Emotions are understandably high, but most of the world doesn't even know any of these events have happened. This isn't some warning or sad plea, just a service message. If you're using nostr as designed, my actions won't effect anyone. Few will even notice a difference. But, I need to look out for my own goals, my own people, and my own well-being just as much as anyone.
I'm a few min late... Nostr Study Group... come renew your pura vida :) https://honey.hivetalk.org/meet/Nostr%20Study%20Group
...and the pre-polish stage of tumble #1 has begun. The yellow jasper & blue quartz are looking good so far. My favorite piece hidden in this mess is a piece of clear quartz with a band of bright green epidote inclusions. It's going to make a beautiful piece of jewery... if I can ever develop some skill for that task. I need to go on a few lake walks and find some nice stones for the next round. I also have some of the smokey high quartz soaking in a baking soda solution right now. I'm excited about those. I think they're going to be really pretty.
Hallway is one of the coolest Nostr things I've experimented with and a game changer for onboarding people and groups outside of the bitcoin space. You can check out my instance here: https://sparc-noasis.netlify.app I've chosen a mix of fun & utility moreso than staying scoped to a topic or tight-knit group. Any Spatia-Arcana members who want to use it have fast access to the members-only space, their bookmarks, and their personal notes right away in the side bar. When you sign in, all of your follows, relay settings, and favorite relays become available, as expected. Mobile browser will give you less fixed feeds than a full screen, but it's fast & the feeds feels complete. The subtle details are all over the place. Check out profiles, little side buttons, menus, etc... Expect a few bugs, but I think we're safe from any of the catastrophic list wipes and whatnot. I haven't had any of that. There will be some little changes as this progresses, so if you have ideas, I'd love to hear them. If you want to practice Latin, reply here with a statement solely in Latin so I can republish it and get you access. 😊
Dammit, I don't know how to troubleshoot cashu. I'd been receiving to npub.cash and moving out to minibits. Some time ago, the minibits scanner started taking 5-15 minutes minutes to scan QRs, so I started using cashu.me as an intermediary. It was a stupid flow, but it worked until last night. I had about 5k sats accumulated at npub.cash, so it had to be broken into 2 claims. The first, I scanned with cashu.me and got this error: I figured something was offline & saved the proofs as pending. I did the many, many minutes scan with with minibits for the second and got the same error, so I copied the token string into cashu.me to save as pending since I can't find an option like that in minibits. This morning, by weird coincidence and for the very first time ever, my cashu.me pwa was reset as if I'd never had a wallet, so I tried to recover from seed but of course the pending history is gone 😂🤣 what do? There's obviously a cashu.me problem and a minibits problem, but is there also an npub.cash problem? Or is that a mint problem?
