In 2009, I got a one-dollar note in Afghanistan and put it in my wallet. There was then no way to spend this piece of paper. So it stayed in my wallet. I've changed my wallet a few times since then, but I've always put the dollar bill back in the new wallet. I don't know why. It had no deeper meaning. The bill is now well worn and has seen its best days - just like the dollar currency system. Just like all fiat currencies, the bill will rot away in my wallet and I will watch the useless piece of paper go by.
