Libertarians believe that if a libertarian government were elected, the country would quickly flourish and become wealthy. Libertarians often lack a clear strategy for success in a world where socialism is gaining ground and the fiat monetary system dominates. Ironically, many libertarians are even anti-Bitcoin, which is ironic since Bitcoin is libertarian. This is one of my main issues with many libertarians. For example, right now, Trump is playing 4D chess, but many libertarians can't seem to grasp what he's doing and instead get hate Trump. I do respect libertarians, they tend to be more intellectually engaged than Republicans or Democrats. But their worldview can be quite naïve when it comes to dealing with the reality of a global system run by fiat currency and controlled by central banking elites. A libertarian government would struggle to compete with the socialist economies currently in power unless they were willing to leverage state power. But libertarians typically reject the use of state authority, which means they limit their own ability to succeed in the current global system. Ultimately, this is why libertarians often struggle to win in the modern political landscape.
