Lack of belief ?

Hi. Thank you for all the information.recenly I bought a pi5 umbrel to run a bitcoin knots. So after downloading and installing. I also run a lightning node. So I have my seed words. My question is : in the lightning node there are 2 wallets one is on chain BTC wallet and the other one is lightning. If I keep my sats in that bitcoin wallet ,on chain ,on that node ,what the difference between that and a hardware wallet ? Is it safe
