The miners don’t get that much more $ in fees. I calculated the fees and spam accounted for less than $400 per block in 2025. The block reward is 450 times that per block. Let them pay will ultimately make us pay when the network is unusable. Spam is advancing the network resources by more than 4 times what it should be at this point. These are great questions. Let’s see if I can do them justice. To run Bitcoin Knots you must acknowledge or “agree” that you will also be running BIP-110. So this is transparent that going forward once you upgrade Bitcoin Knots and BIP-110 are together. They go a step further and allow you to NOT agree and run Knots without BIP-110. Obviously it is not recommended. Therefore stratum and Datum are both running BIP-110 to create the block templates. So there will be no transactions that are “non compliant” and no that hash rate would not count. What is meant by lower profitability? Not having those “larger” payouts from less than 500 sat transactions? Think about this man. How can a bunch of 500 sat transactions bring that much “VALUE” not money, but value to the blockchain? It isn’t. If the focus is on the money generated let’s do the math. 2025 there was an average of 30 Million dollars worth of spam. I know that sounds like a lot. Divide that by 52,560 blocks per year and you get. less than $400.00 per block. Each block is currently worth 3.125 Bitcoin. So at the current USD price of $60,000 * 3.125 = over $180,000.00 per block. 180,000 / 400 =450. So to recap. The spam accounts for 450 times less than the block reward for each block.
