Thank you for sharing. I mainly wanted to highlight the haenyeo and the strength of these women who spent their lives diving and supporting their families

Yesterday was March 8, and I decided to share a little about the haenyeo - female divers from Jeju Island in Korea. I was inspired by the Korean series When Life Gives You Tangerines, where they are mentioned. It was hard and dangerous work done exclusively by women, who spent decades diving without scuba gear. They gathered seafood to feed their families, but it came at the cost of their health, and many died young. This profession is still alive today, but very few divers remain. #watercolor #womensday #art
