Been in Bitcoin coming up on 9 years this December. I have a feeling the Bitcoin universe will be dramatically different in another 9 years

Went to one of my wife’s friends house this weekend. He has 22 acres and an extensive forest with trails within it. It’s connected to a buddy of his with another 22 acres and he has his own set of trials which they both have connected. They took my wife and I thru the trails on his atv and it was very soul fulfilling. It made me miss Lake Satoshi for its connection to nature.

It was December of 2019 when I had a deep, uneasy feeling that 2020-2029 would be a hard and stressful decade. I didn’t know exactly why I felt like that but after 9/11 and 2008 it just appeared to me the build up to the 2020’s wasn’t the rosiest. Holy shit was I right. I always look back on that and shake my head that I nailed that prediction.

What’s more daring? Being the hitchhiker or being the person who picks up the hitchhiker?

I don’t think the Cold Card Massacre of 2026 will have the negative impact on price that people are claiming. Reason: self custody is a minority act. I still think the bear ends in late fall/early winter. #ColdCard #Bitcoin #HardwareWallets

Based on what I’m seeing on Nostr and X alot of people had their balls kicked into their stomach. Damn I feel bad for those affected. Try and hang in there and talk with someone if you’re thinking about anything drastic. You’ve got to find a way to push through this. Even if you step away from Bitcoin at least don’t step away from yourself. Take a deep breath and find yourself.

I feel horrible for anyone affected by the ColdCard hack. This won’t make you feel any better right now…. But if you make it through this, I’d imagine the Bitcoin ecosystem will only learn from this and harden due to hard lessons learned from hardware wallet providers. And that can only serve you better in the future when utilizing wallets for future use. I hope the hardware and software wallet providers take this opportunity to use the AI tools such as Fable and the like to find as many vulnerabilities as possible. Make them known after patching the problem so that everyone can learn.
