I imagine the block space scarcity would also result in higher fees, thus more of an incentive to mine, and that combined with DATUM could be very powerful for the decentralization and security of the network.

Bitcoin was a label given to a set of fundamentals and principles of absolutely scarce decentralized sound money which was embodied into code. It is those fundamentals and principles which are important, not the label itself. Many are confused about this. The network effect also has people confused, as that is where the current energy is, and that is also mistaken for fundamentals and principles. However over time, and as people wake up, the network effect will follow the fundamentals and principles (not the other way around) either on the current chain or a new chain, and they will be preserved. For me that is what I meant when I said Bitcoin. I don't really care what it is called, I care what it is.
Thank you, I'll give it a read. We are in something far more grandiose and meaningful than we ever imagined, and nothing is disconnected or coincidence.
No I haven't read it, only read about it.
