Would this be bullish for Bitcoin?
You can keep your capital memorized in your mind and nowhere physically. That creates a huge difficulty to apply the law.
It paints a clear picture of where things are going. I’d want to add one final layer in line with this subject and that is the exit tax. The Netherlands is considering strengthening their exit tax policy. So once you have complied and paid your taxes like a good little citizen and you decide to leave with the capital that’s left you’ll be paying one last time. The exits are closing and you will own nothing. They are warning you. Take timely action.
Imagine this without Bitcoin existing.
Your book just dropped in the mail this Sunday. That truly is a blessing. Thank you.
Bitcoin and compliant Bitcoin. Let them be compliant as long as we can continue to settle onchain.
Whatever direction you go it eventually reaches onchain UTXO’s. Was it ever feasible that the current world would be composed of sovereign individuals? The system we live in, the nation state, is constructed on the basis of compliance. It’s to be expected this path is followed.
Non aligned or incentivised entities would not want to use the custodial rails with the risk of being locked out. How much pushback could we expect from i.e. non western states to continue to use real bitcoin to maintain sovereignty?
Co-sovereignty? Is that even possible? Common-Sovereign.
The question for sovereign individuals holding their own keys will be: will it be possible in the future to use your unregistered UTXO’s in the western KYC countries or will those be blacklisted. I personally believe there will always be physical jurisdictions that will let you onramp into the system.
