I'm assuming the pushback will be "Why DNN? Why not X or Y or Z" and so on. I have the answers to pretty much all of them / what I think are all the questions (building up a doc with all the pros and cons of each of the past DNS alt solutions and pointing out where DNN doesn't have their issues and how DNN provides even more benefits). There isn't a consensus as far as I'm aware about the DNS and IANA stuff yet in the nostr-sphere, aside from there being the nsite solution and a similar one before that, though what's happening after that is what I'm making with DNN (human-meaningful/usable IDs/TLDs chained to that then resolve records nostr events), and 'noDNS' by (npub string that resolve records nostr events under a .nostr TLD). The upcoming Soverign Engineering event (SEC-07) is specifically about tackling it / the DNS issue and more (sadly I'll most likely not be able to attend it, unfortunate since what I made is basically 'it' , along with the purpose of SEC-06 as well. I'm thinking of doing a digital version of the event in a game called VRChat, for people such as myself, and in general this is an idea I've been juggling around with for all nostr type events / tested it out a few months ago and it was neat =3) (Side note: Arjen and others are also tirelessly working on something called Tollgate, which is (from my pov) mesh internet+nostr+ecash/cashu, and on a long-enough period could be a paralel internet / alternative to IANA (as n IPs), and DNN is prepped for the hopeful distant future). With that said, I'll carrying on developing DNN, as I truly believe it has the best shot out there compared to all past and current attempts at solving the ICANN-DNS problem, and start contacting more promonent nostr devs to share their thoughts on it and see if they'd integrate support for it in their clients as I showcase its benefits, which there are many (including solving the relay discovery issue), with ready demos showing the magic (already demo-ed it a few times and the reactions has been pretty much positive).

Not sure why I didn't reply to this (i guess i missed it? sorry about that), but luckily rediscovered it as I was trying to find an old post, and also I guess you may have potentially gotten your answer from demo thursdays, but answering here just in case: Regarding Zooko's Triangle, which I've re-read his old and latest version to make sure about my understanding of it and confirm the correct criterias, which is about having a string that a user can acquire where it's Secure+Decentralized+HumanMeaningful(Specifically 'Usable') I've updated the DNN readme to include a section about Zooko's Triangle: https://git.nostrdev.com/freakoverse/DNN/src/branch/main#zookos-triangle--dnn Here's a screenshot in case you want to remain on nostr / not visit the link: Regarding your other question: local/individual meaningful names, connection/network data (IPs, etc), and other artbitrary data, for that DNN ID/TLD, are stored in nostr events, yup. Side note / accidental benefit: I just realized this past week that DNN's solution to Zooko's Triangle can be utilized by Bitcoin without needing to hook to and rely on a DNN nodes, inadvertantly creating a solution to Bitcoin's receive address problem, turning 'bc1qxy2kgdygjrsqtzq2n0yrf2493p83kkfjhx0wlh', for example, into: 'nabobAbove'

I did make a "FUCK" coin in the past on the binance chain, with a white paper about how if one doesn't have fucks to give, then they can buy some, so then they'd have enough supply of fucks to give. If there's one use for something outside of bitcoin, it's for having shits and giggles x3

I stopped caring a while ago, for any country, and I see it as entertainment. Years ago, my mentality shifted from caring about politics to nudge it to be better for myself or those I care about, to: Don't change anything of politics, but see what can I take advantage from it, in the current system I'm in, to better my life and those I care about, and see however many systems I can be in, or hop to easily, as well as what can I create and do to benefit my life and those I care about regardless of the politics. All of it is just strings of a puppet, and we're all weak. Proper solutions take more than an indinvidual's life time if not 10x the time (if they can do something that is effective earily on in their life, neat, but that's about it). So, in my opinion, one must do what they have to, to protect and enjoy life with their loved ones or any they care about, before their demise, and on their demise, if they managed to do stuff where they can smile and give the finger to those that brought them suffering in their life and to those that brought them to their demise, even better.

Would love to hear your thoughts on it / what to explore to make it better (open to voice calls as well). Just a few notes about DNN in case you haven't check it out yet: - Doesn't add anything to bitcoin (no op_return, no ordinals, no hidden witness data) - A simple self-transfer + oneClick publishing of nostr events = you get an ID/TLD - IDs are generated based on block number + transaction position, then it (with two other pieces of data) gets encoded into a short human-readable/memorable ID - Costs are as low as possible (can do free as well but you'd be uncertain of time at that point) - Because it'd be a TLD, you can have however many websites/domains you want (limited by the event size) with no collision with any other person - User relay discovery is pretty much solved with this (what nprofile tried to solve but without the downsides, and i think no need for the outbox model as well) - Bonus (out of many): This brings back the traditional UX flow of username and password that people are accustomed to, but with better security/control/privacy/etc.

Ah, in that case, get a life jacket and a portal quick inflatable boat, in case you want to yeet the fuck out of the ship x3

Dunno, but when I was in turkey/istanbul, a boat/ship ride is a dollar or less i think, it's basically a shared taxi ride or a city buss, and depending on the weather, that cheapness + nice views + good weather (day or night) + and drinking tea = was just super nice/chill/relaxing. Sometimes I read manga while doing so and I was satisfied =3 Though that's that, but I don't think I'd say the same thing if the intention is a 'cruise' where it's guided, timed, more expensive, being serviced (bothered) by staff, etc. Happening to be on an intransit boat/ship (freedom / you're nobody) > being on a cruise

How much will the CEO of nostr sell the protocol for? Also, is the CEO of nostr fiatjaf or a purple ostrich? If the latter, how can i get in contact?

At the moment it isn't (DNN isn't even public yet, but it seems like that'll change soon). Right now I'm testing out various things still, one of which is basic implementation of within a lightweight browser (going well), and once that's done, I'd start implement it in forked version of chromium, brave, maybe firefox too, if i can, and have it up for people to use. With time, as bugs are ironed out, and more people start using it, along with a few nostr clients implementing it, and a few projects having domains, a few posts here and there with a few videos, then I'd start hitting up the Brave team to discuss the potential of adding DNN support.

Thnx. It's a PWA nostr signer (indexedb for seed storage), but also has a wrapped android version (uses KeyStorage for seed storage). It's also a bitcoin wallet (derives a bitcoin address from your npub) where you can also start sending on-chain bitcoin to your following or anyone with an npub, and also has cashu/nutzaps (done in a way how I see it should be done). This was mainly was developed to fulfill a grander project: https://icannot.xyz/ Gist: Turns: npub 18n4ysp43ux5c98fs6h9c57qpr4p8r3j8f6e32v0vj8egzy878aqqyzzk9r To: nabtaAbove Which is also a TLD, meaning you can have however many websites/domains you want. (imo: the best attempt, out of all other attempts in the past to now, at an icann-dns alt with the best chance to succeed in becoming mainstream)

Here's a simplified visual presenting why, among various other reasons (other visuals), DNN will succeed / has the best chance at achieving mainstream adoption, in comparison to all other protocols, and the reason for a bunch of domino effects that would reuslt in an exponential growth.

Hm... got people who zap me fine, my LN custodian on this npub is on coinos, i guess it didn't find a route? (or coinos is busted at this time?) Plan for ICANN-DNS: Attack on all fronts: - Daemon a user can install - Browser extension - Custom forks of existing browsers to add support for it - Start contacting to have multiple nostr clients utilize it (since that is its second use, a proper nip-05, user relay discovery, and the reintroduction of username/password evolved) - Create a bunch of buzz (marketing effort) - Start contacting multiple bitcoin wallets to utilize it (I realized this week that my solution (DNN) inadvertently solved a particular issue with bitcoin) - Start contacting teams that develop linux distros to add resolves to it by default in their packages, since linux adoption is rising (I'd say linux would hit 20% to 30% of the market by 2050 from my guess) - Start contacting the Brave team (Brave browser) to have them implement support for it in their browser to resolve it (aside from them finding it interesting and beneficial to their users, since said team likes freedom/privacy/ownership/etc, I'd also be presenting them with points to their benefits that would take take users from other browser to them = increasing their rates of browser dominance) - Assuming success so far, millions (hundreds of millions) of users now has access to freedom domains, and because of the two points above, it'll trigger market-competitive dynamics, resulting in a domino effect of adoption/implementations in other browsers and OSs Basically the proper actual success for DNN, in regards to adoption, is with the Brave route as the first rank, and Linux distros route coming in second.

Hol up... technically speaking.... the human-usable bitcoin address can be resolved by wallets/users without a dnn node even, basically bitcoin doesn't need a third-party system to talk to to resolve that human-usable bitcoin address O.o ... I might be drinking my own cool aid (don't think so? x3) but damn, what I made / DNN is a beast xD

On it: Trying to compete against ICANN-DNS. Trying to compete against Steam +. When my plate empties: Will try to compete against Google Ads. Will try to compete against Cloudflare CDN.

I decided to look into Handshake (for comparison purposes with DNN). After looking into it: Weeks to get a TLD? Seperate chain / not bitcoin? Auction processes that might skyrocket what I want (and dealing with said auction process)? Recuring payments where i'd lose it if I forget? Sell domains to others as you bought a rented TLD? Not interested / similar to others. The more DNS protocols I compare DNN to, the rate of my belief in its success increases exponentially.

Freakoverse
Freakoverse 1d

Wait a minute... I just realized... DNN provides an human-readable/memorable receive address to a bitcoin address without needing a nostr address. Just do a self transfer from your bluewallet for example, and there we go, now you have something like nabobAbove where people can send sats to, instead of a long address string. This just added a big value point for Bitcoin users without needing to interact with nostr. --- I'm also thinking if I can derive shitcoin addresses from an npub (don't think i'll do it, but just document it for other apps if they're interested in doing so... or maybe I will for marketing purposes? Will see).
