Don’t trust. Verify. A lot of “influencers” in #Bitcoin have shown just how shallow their knowledge really is. It’s honestly mind-boggling there are people out here recommending products, setups, strategies, and “must-dos” they clearly have no real understanding of. When the latest events hit, it felt surreal, some influencers were doing their first bitcoin transactions ever….Then the timeline filled with panic, confusion, and people publicly asking for help. There’s nothing wrong with that, we’re all learning, and asking questions is normal. There’s nothing like a stupid question. But if you’re positioning yourself as someone others should listen to, you don’t get to act like a complete newbie the moment the rubber meets the road. That pattern forces a hard question: how much of this “influencing” is just money incentive with almost no study, time, or actual thought put into what’s being promoted? It brings us straight back to square one. Don’t trust. Verify. There’s a day-and-night difference between people who talk like seasoned Bitcoiners “selling XYZ to bunch of noobs” and what happens when shit actually hits the fan. That’s the moment the real knowledge (or the total absence of it) becomes visible. Naked. I’m all for people doing what they love. Follow your passion. Stay on fire. That energy is valuable. But from an influencing perspective, a lot of this creates more harm than good. A uneducated influencer who’s only one chapter ahead (if that) recommending concrete steps to other newbies is not education. It’s just noise with a bigger megaphone. Money has crippled the influencing space. Not only Bitcoin industry. You see the same pattern everywhere. Once someone has reach, the offers start coming. Doesn’t matter if they’re good or bad at what they claim to know. Bills need paying, so many accept. I don’t blame every single person for that because it’s a two-sided problem. I want people to prosper. I also think influencers need to stay on the ground, keep critical thinking alive, and carry actual accountability. Some do. You can feel the difference. Others clearly don’t give a shit. That internal accountability is what will sort the field over time. Everyone loves talking about autonomy in bitcoin. Far fewer live it. Freedom without responsibility is just cosplay.
